MONTCLAIR, N.J., Dec. 2, 2013 – Ten members of the Urban Land Institute's (ULI's) Northern New Jersey Young Leaders Group recently met with Prism Capital Partners' Eugene Diaz to talk about all things real estate. The get-together launched a new "Lunch with a Leader" series, according to Cushman & Wakefield's Brian Whitmer and Cecilian Worldwide's Anthony Battiato, who serve as co-chairs for the group.

The ULI Young Leaders initiative is geared to real estate professionals under age 35. "One of our goals is to introduce members to people who are changing New Jersey's real estate landscape through their leadership and projects," Whitmer said. "We limited registration for this event to 10 people, which created an intimate get-together where everyone could see and hear, and be seen and heard."

Whitmer added that Diaz was a perfect fit for the program. "We met at one of Gene's favorite restaurants – Osteria Giotto in Montclair – and discussed everything from his career history and current projects, to his observations and outlook on the real estate industry. He then invited us for a tour of Prism's new Parkway Lofts industrial-to-multifamily adaptive reuse project in Bloomfield, which is getting ready to open. That was an unexpected add-on – and a real treat."

Participants in the Lunch with a Leader event included (L-R): Christopher Bednarski of Insite Engineering, Wall, NJ; Anthony Battiato of Cecilian Worldwide, Flemington; Eddie Rivera of Sax Macy Fromm, Clifton; Brian Whitmer of Cushman & Wakefield, East Rutherford; Eugene Diaz of Prism Capital Partners, Bloomfield; David Greek of F Greek Development, Ringoes; Paul Nikulin of FM Equities, Union City; Daniel Mandelbaum of MCP Real Estate & Investments, Montclair; and Susannah Henschel of RPM Development Group, Montclair.
